
Institutional Overview:
The Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Uttarakhand, serves as the premier organization in the state for tribal research, documentation, policy formulation, and the dissemination of tribal knowledge systems. Established under the guidance of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), Government of India, and operating under the administrative control of the Directorate of Tribal Welfare, Government of Uttarakhand, TRI Uttarakhand is located in Dehradun.
The Institute plays a crucial role in assisting the State Government with the implementation of tribal development schemes, conducting evidence-based research, conserving tribal heritage, and fostering inclusive and sustainable development for Scheduled Tribes (STs), including Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) residing in the state.
