The Government of Uttarakhand, in collaboration with central tribal welfare schemes and TRI Uttarakhand, has taken several steps to improve infrastructure in tribal-dominated areas, particularly in districts like Pithoragarh, Chamoli, and Uttarkashi. Key developments include:

1- Roads & Connectivity
  • Construction of all-weather roads under PMGSY to connect remote tribal villages.

  • Bridge projects to improve access across difficult terrains.

2- Health Infrastructure
  • Establishment of Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Sub-Centres in tribal regions.

  • Mobile health units and telemedicine centers for inaccessible areas.

3- Educational Facilities
  • Upgradation of Ashram Schools and hostels with better sanitation and digital learning tools.

  • Smart classrooms and residential facilities for tribal students under EMRS (Eklavya Model Residential Schools).

4- Housing & Basic Amenities
  • Construction of tribal housing under PMAY-G.

  • Provision of clean drinking water, sanitation, and solar lighting systems.

5- Livelihood & Skill Infrastructure
  • Establishment of skill development centers tailored for tribal youth.

  • Creation of tribal markets and haats to promote local products and crafts.
