2- Atal Awas Yojana

The Atal Awas Yojana is a state-sponsored housing scheme initiated by the Government of Uttarakhand in 2009. It aims to provide financial assistance for constructing houses to rural families belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) who are homeless.

Key Features
  • Financial Assistance: Eligible beneficiaries receive a grant of Rs 1,30,000 in hilly areas and ₹1,20,000 in plain areas. This amount is disbursed in three installments. 

  • Eligibility Criteria:

    • Families belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes.

    • Annual family income not exceeding Rs 48,000.

    • The applicant must not own a house and should possess land for construction.

    • The applicant should not have availed benefits from other housing schemes like Indira Awas Yojana or Deendayal Upadhyay Awas Yojana.  

  • Required Documents:

    • Completed application form.

    • Caste certificate.

    • Income certificate.

    • Photograph of the applicant.

    • Copy of Aadhaar card.

    • Bank account details linked with Aadhaar.

    • Proof of land ownership. 

  • Application Process:

    • Applicants must submit the completed application form along with the required documents to the Village Development Officer or Gram Panchayat Development Officer for verification.

    • The verified application is then forwarded to the Block Development Officer, who sends it to the District Social Welfare Officer.

    • Upon approval, the grant amount is directly transferred to the beneficiary's bank account.
