Objective-
To improve employment prospects for tribal youth, the state operates three ITI centers—two in Udham Singh Nagar and one in Dehradun. These institutes offer vocational training in trades such as welding, electrical work, and diesel mechanics. Students receive free accommodation and meals, with a combined capacity to train up to 380 individuals.
Additionally, under the Uttarakhand Workforce Development Project (UKWDP), supported by the World Bank, efforts are underway to upgrade ITI facilities and curricula. The project aims to train 80,500 skilled workers over five years, aligning courses with industry demands and enhancing employability.
